Job: Functional Tester Contract: 1 year Location: New York, New York Experience: 7+ years NOTE: Hybrid from Day 1 NY/NJ or nearby states Please see attached file for Assessment/Skills Matrix No visa restrictions Gas/Energy/Electric/Utilities industry experience Assignment Details The tester would be responsible for executing exploratory testing on the Customer Project Management System for the IT Customer Engagement department. The tester will be required to utilize various exploratory testing techniques to successfully test the application against business Skills & Requirements The typical candidate should have experience testing Internet, intranet, and client-server applications. The experience should also include developing manual test cases and interpreting system requirements documents in order to perform effective end-user testing and determining adherence to scope. The candidate must have the ability to learn overall system processes, business requirements, and identify process-related issues and requirement gaps. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to communicate with business analysts, developers, and other members of the testing team. Should have experience with UML, (Client currently uses Visio to diagram UML), Visio, Word, Excel and Power Point and test management tools such as Client Quality Center and/or Rational Quality Manager. The tester must have experience with creating detailed manual test scripts. The following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate. The candidate must be familiar with exploratory testing concepts and testing methodologies. Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) is preferred. The candidate must possess strong communication and analytical skills. Experience with testing system interfaces is a plus. Knowledge of the PEGA Case Management solution a plus.
