Integrated Machinery Solutions (IMS) is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Zeiss CMM Operator with experience using both PC-DMIS and Zeiss Calypso software.  Ideal candidate will have 5 plus years of specialize or similar CMM and Gear Cutting experience.  This is fantastic opportunity to earn competitive pay and full-time benefits.



 



POSITION OVERVIEW:



This position is responsible for all activities concerning the Zeiss CMM including operating, programming, set up, troubleshooting, and planned maintenance.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Must have own tools.  The individual must be familiar with and capable of using various hand tools, (including pneumatic) as well as close tolerance measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.  The individual must be a self-starter, able to work from blueprints and other instructions with minimal supervision. 



 



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




  • Responsible for programming, setup and operation of CMM including all aspects of part installation and orientation, CMM calibration and CMM operation

  • Create, develop, edit and implement new CMM programs on more complex part applications using Zeiss Calypse software from 3D solid-models and 2D drawings

  • Audit, implement and revise programs as needed for continuous improvement

  • Provide CMM programing and quality control support and expertise in support of daily control support and expertise in support of daily production and operational needs.

  • Check dimensional accuracy of different parts and assemblies

  • Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements

  • Work closely with CNC programming and engineering when perform inspection to maintain best practices and achieve better results

  • Experience working with gears and is comfortable doing manual layouts.

  • Inspecting all incoming fixture components to ensure proper assembly and programming

  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

  • Reads and interprets blueprints to set-up and operate various gear / pinion manufacturing equipment

  • Operates gear / pinion manufacturing machines including manual loading / unloading, indicating, and measuring of parts

  • Maintains preventative maintenance of equipment

  • Inspects and changes cutters as needed to produce quality parts

  • Moves finished parts from the gear production area to the gearbox assembly area



COMPETENCIES:




  • Read and interpret documents in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals

  • Read various close tolerance measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators etc.

  • Must be able to use various hand tools such as hammers, end wrenches, buffers and die grinders

  • Must understand 5S principals



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne



particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.



 



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



The physical demands described here are representative if those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently standing; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or heavier.



 



POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:



This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Overtime may be required in some instances to meet production & shipping requirements.



 



TRAVEL:



No travel is expected for this position



 



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school



Minimum five years of related experience



 



PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



Two or more years of related experience with CNC Gear Profile Grinding a plus.



Experienced CMM programmer with five (5) years’ experience (preferably who has earned a certification from Zeiss programming and operation of Zeiss CMMs) is a definite plus.
