Position Summary
The Grants Manager is a critical role at YWCA USA, responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding to support the organization's mission work. The successful candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and collaborative, with a strong background in grant writing and management, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. This position involves coordinating the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on program performance, and managing multiple projects on deadlines. The Grants Management Manager will work closely with various teams and stakeholders to help create critical infrastructure and grow the organization.
Accountabilities
Grant Acquisition and Development
Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure grant funding
Conduct prospect research on foundations and corporations
Establish and maintain relationships with foundation contacts and program officers
Coordinate the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals
Maintain a calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports
Prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and manage supplemental material required for proposals
Grant Management and Compliance
Collaborate with Social Innovation, Investment, & Impact (SI3) team to ensure grant administration and implementation processes
Work closely with Finance and SI3 teams to gather information necessary for reporting to corporate/foundation funders
Ensure compliance with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors
Maintain current records in Raisers Edge and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting
Develop and maintain documentation of the grant funding process, including policies, procedures, and user guides
Evaluate the effectiveness of grant funding efforts and make recommendations for improvement
Analyze and report on the performance of program activities by working closely with the implementation team
Manages portfolio of grants and ensures notification of release of funds to finance for multi year grants
Collaboration and Capacity Building
Collaborate across teams to understand institutional history and programs execution
Assist with other fundraising projects as requested
Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff's grant writing and grant management skills
Participate in conferences and workshops related to grant funding to stay current with industry trends and best practices
Requirements
You will be successful in this role if you possess the following experience and core competencies
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in grant writing and grant management.
- Demonstrated success in securing grant funding from foundation and corporate sources.
- Experience using online databases and other sources to locate biographical, financial, and philanthropic information.
- Familiarity or experience in the gender equity and/or racial justice arenas.

- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.
- Functions effectively within a remote team structure.
- Ability to work off-hours occasionally as pressing deadlines and/or events require.
Nice to have
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nonprofit management, business administration, or communications is also an advantage.

YWCA USA is a remote first office environment; you will collaborate with colleagues who are based across the United States. You should be prepared to either work from home or a location of your choosing.
Availability to work Monday through Friday during core hours and occasionally on nights and weekends as needed.
This role requires prolonged periods of sitting, using a computer and phone, and reading and analyzing information.
The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone
This role is required to provide proof of COVID vaccination.

In order to counter pay inequality and uphold internal parity, salaries are non-negotiable for new and current employees. YWCA USA salary bands for a given staff level are benchmarked to the 75th percentile for our sector, and all new employees are paid at the entry point of those bands. Employees then have the opportunity to progress through current salary bands through annual cost of living increases and performance-based pay increases, and into new salary bands through promotions.
