Job Summary Utilizing the nursing process, the Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the delivery of patient care in the unit. In collaboration with the patient and health team members, the RN must conduct an initial and ongoing assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patient's individual needs and must perform appropriate interventions.Position Qualifications:Graduate of an approved RN School of Nursing required.3- 5 years Emergency Room RN experience required.Eligible for or currently registered to practice nursing in the State of VT and CPR Certification.Verbal ability is required to use and understand medical terminology, to fulfill quickly and accurately orders and instructions and to document patient assessments, care given and patient response.Excellent corrected hearing acuity to understand verbal instructions and patient communication.Excellent corrected visual acuity.Ability to perform a variety of duties in the Emergency Department under the supervision and as a team member as well as ability to function independently.Good interpersonal skills with nursing & ancillary staff; problem solving skills & decision making skills.Motor coordination is required for rapid and accurate movements of body and hands in response to verbal and audio stimuli.ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
