Position: Retail UX Manager/Director - Customer Experience/eCommerce Interview Process: Video Location: NYC/Midtown. Remote. Candidate must be located in NY/NJ area. No Relocation Candidates will need to go onsite occasionally, maybe once a quarter. **We need a senior Director to manage UX teams and enhance user experience on their ecommerce website (Adobe) and mobile platforms. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE UX, ECOMMERCE AND RETAIL WEBSITE IMPROVEMENT EXPERIENCE FOR APPLICATIONS LIKE SHOPPING CARTS AND LOYALTY PROGRAMS. Beauty, Makeup, Luxury or Bed Bath and Beyond preferred. Job Description: UX Manager - Shopping Experience The Design Team, is looking for a UX Manager who is a subject matter expert in creating best in class product listing page, product detail page, navigation and high touch services for responsive websites with clear understanding of mobile first approach. The UX Manager should be a creative problem solver, be able to work closely with product team, provide UX best practices that transition requirements into elegant designs. The ideal candidate has experience across many user-centered design disciplines and is highly knowledgeable about the latest interaction, design standards and accessibility compliances. Essential Responsibilities An expert of universal design principles, design with accessibility guidelines in mind, and advocate across teams. Collaborate on the global experience design with a focus on shopping experience with designers, researchers, product managers and developers, by understanding business needs and product requirements. Translate user needs and product requirements into conceptual diagrams, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes. Develop sound UX concepts, including the definition of customer needs, task analysis, the creation of scenarios and use cases. Deliver effective documentation and communication of design via clear visual presentation and detailed annotation. Provide mentorship to junior designers on design process, techniques, and creative solutions. Be responsible for and effectively advocate for users in a fast-paced, corporate climate, imparting day-to-day design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, content, business, and engineering. Qualifications - Bachelor degree in UX Design, HCI, or related fields.
- 3-5 years of experience in UX design for e-commerce websites and experience in working on upper funnel experience (PLP, PDP, HP, Navigation).
- Online portfolio to showcase your ability to solve complex problems is a must.
- Familiar using Jira and Confluence, able to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to play well and thrives in collaboration with our partners and stakeholders.
- Expert knowledge of Figma and other prototyping tools.
- Has a "no task is too small" mentality.
- Familiar with setting up usability testing as well as delivering research insights.
- Experience in global feature rollout or managing multiple brands at the same time is a preferred.
- Clear understanding of WCAG 2.1 requirements and industry best practices around accessibility/inclusive design is a plus.
