Were looking for a short-term US Controller to temporarily join our finance team - prefer EST but open to all US timezones.

What you will do:

  • Lead the US-based accounting team, reporting directly to the CFO
  • Partner with the Finland-based accounting team, including weekly touchpoints with the Finnish Group Controller to facilitate multibook month-end close and reporting process (under Finnish Accounting Standards [FAS] and US GAAP frameworks)
  • Prepare financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows) in line with US GAAP reporting standards
  • Prepare month-over-month flux analysis and present the results to the FP&A team
  • Facilitate solutioning with FP&A team on causation of actual variances against Plan
  • Review and approval of US GAAP book-specific journal entries
  • Reconcile FAS and GAAP financial statements monthly to document and communicate differences in accounting practices
  • Review of inventory capitalization, including an evaluation to ascertain if revisions to the existing model are warranted, returned inventory, preparation of COGS and margin analysis
  • Review of COGS vs Opex allocations, including supervision of cross-functional collaborations and technical accounting assessment
  • Review of adequacy of warranty reserves and commercial return reserves
  • Review on inputs/assumption and recording of stock based compensation expense
  • Review loan amortization schedule
  • Oversee entire US GAAP close process
  • Review creation of all new skus in NetSuite for appropriate US GAAP and tax implications
  • Perform ad hoc accounting guidance research and documentation
  • Enhance operational processes to optimize efficiency and compliance with US GAAP reporting standards
  • Partner with Director of Tax on tax related matters that arise
  • Provide mentorship and performance feedback to the team in line with company policies and practices

Eastern Time Zone strongly preferred, but open to candidates in Pacific/Central/Mountain Time Zones. This is a remote position.

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • ERP experience required; NetSuite experience preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading a team of 5+ accounting professionals
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and a high degree of integrity
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle many competing priorities
  • Experience scaling a company internationally
  • Experience selling through D2C and retail sales channels

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges will be prorated to a 8-month term and may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $185,000 - $192,500
  • Region 2 $175,750 - $182,875
  • Region 3 $166,500 - $173,250
