JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Unit Manager, the staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members she/he may interact with or delegate duties or supervise in the delivery of care based on the scope of practice outlined by the Board of Nursing.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Required: Graduate of accredited college, university or school of nursing Stroke education annually. Preferred: None
EXPERIENCE Required: 2 years Preferred: None Special Skills and Abilities: Required: None Preferred: None LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Required: Current license or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in State of Texas; CPR (ACLS) *TNCC and ENPC recert every 4 yrs (may substitute PALS recert every 2 yrs for ENPC) **ACLS recert every 2 yrs; ACLS and PALS certifications must be complete within 1 year of hire date. TNCC certification for ER must be completed in 18 months of hire date. Initial stroke education for new hires completed in 90 days of hire date. Current employees must recertify by expiration day or at next course available in region with manager approval. Preferred: TNCC certification for ICU. ER required.
