The primary purpose of the Sr. Team Leader Advisory is to lead voluntary benefits business and product development, while acting as a subject matter expert and overseeing all aspects of the Agency Advisory Support program. This position a) leads presales support b) owns and maintains the practices marketing process and templates, c) acts as a subject matter expert on sales matters, d) maintains 2-3 large clients, e) drives new revenue by supporting agency producers and account teams with prospect and client meetings, and f) manages the advisory support program/team.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:


To provide strategies and solutions to meet the needs of VB clients and prospects. (Client Centered)

Provides operational oversight of sales processes, data analytics and tools to drive growth and market expansion. (Results)

To identify and deploy best-in-class market solutions which drives the best outcomes for the client. (Integrity and Accountability)


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited, to the following:

Leadership:

Lead Advisory Support Program

Oversee and manage the Agency team

Liaison between agency(s) and carriers (escalations management)


Establish Practice Standards:

Advisory Support processes and operations


Create & Conduct Learning Bursts

Advisory producer/account team training


Sales Support & Financial Management:

Cross-sell support (inter-agency and advisory/across all agencies)

Subject Matter Expert (inter-agency and advisory/across all agencies)

Create and maintain Advisory Support program tools, marketing collateral and other sales support documents

Manage advisory escalations


People & Team Management:

Mentoring of all team members

Conduct 1:1 career pathing meetings (quarterly)

Conduct annual performance reviews

Manage new-hire onboarding process of direct team members

Conduct status meetings with team members (weekly)

Oversee work distribution within advisory pod

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

:


Bachelors degree or the equivalent work experience

Life, health & accident license

10 years of voluntary benefits experience

3 years of management experience

Advanced knowledge of voluntary benefit solutions and technology

Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint and MS Excel is preferred (i.e. ability to perform pivot tables).

This position is the last line of peer review and establishes the foundation for what quality work is. They will train, mentor, inspect and inspire the work of the team to ensure it meets the standards set forth by the Practice Leader and Executive Operations Leader. (Quality of Work)

Strong self-starter and fast learner including aptitude for learning internal systems, applications, and internal workflow of the department.

Effectively interacts with people at all levels inside and outside of the company.
