As Sr. Finance Manager for Manufacturing Operations, the candidate will act as Manufacturing Controller and provide business advisory as well as leadership for financial reporting to the Operations team in Delaware. The ideal candidate is expected to have a solid understanding of cost accounting, with a good track record of having supported global manufacturing operations. The role would also involve providing guidance and leading many cross-functional initiatives aimed at driving operational efficiencies, as well as improving gross margins. Role & Responsibilities: -
- Must be able to manage cost accounting and develop analytics to help improve overall gross margin.
- Manage forecasting, reporting and analysis of product gross margin, inventory and manufacturing variances
- Play a key role developing forecasts & review of cost roadmap, quarterly inventory DIO levels and on initiatives aimed at increasing cash from operations.
- Streamline global manufacturing and cost accounting processes and policies, including inventory controls, in support of current business needs.
- Provide financial support and analysis for business decisions modeling, forecasting, and ROI analysis
- Participate in the quarterly physical inventory audit process, perform test cycle counts and ensure inventory records are accurate
- Develop robust processes for setting standards and for review of Excess and Obsolete inventory
- Ensure inventory is valued in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Work with IT and other functional teams to implement systems and business processes aimed at reducing financial close cycle
- Ensure appropriate internal controls surrounding inventory movements are in place and provide support for SOX compliance.
- Provide necessary support for external audit.
Skills and Experience: -
- 7-10 years of experience in industrial cost accounting, a proven expertise in cost systems and strong analytical skills
- Experience in a global environment and interfacing with international subsidiaries is a plus.
- Previous experience in developing processes, policies and systems is needed.
- Strong communication and analytical skills are critical in interfacing with manufacturing, operations and management
- Experience with Oracle or SAP manufacturing modules
Educational Requirements: -
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Accounting or related field
- CPA, CMA or advanced degree preferred
