The Retail Planner will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements for the entire retail line, with the aim of achieving sales and profit targets. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded experience in retail planning, buying, merchandise allocation, and inventory management.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the merchandise financial plans by creating accurate and effective assortment plans and pre-season plans.
  • Review and analyze the sales, margin, and inventory reports to make critical business decisions on pricing, replenishment, allocation, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage the seasonal merchandise strategy, including merchandise selection, brand and SKU level forecasting, pricing, and product flow.
  • Work in conjunction with the buying and allocation team to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to support sales.
  • Manage and analyze the open to buy forecasting model to minimize excess inventory and maximize profits.
  • Develop and communicate performance reports to the management team on merchandise classification, sales, inventory, and profit.
  • Identify opportunities and develop action plans to improve sales, profitability, and inventory turnover.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Retail Merchandising, Business, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in retail planning, buying, merchandise allocation, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of retail industry trends and retail math.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, make decisions, and develop plans and strategies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with merchandise financial planning systems, Excel, and other analytical tools.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills.
