The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for providing supervisory functions for the QC personnel to meet the daily support requirements for products in production and help ensure compliance to drawings and specifications in a timely fashion. Position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:



KEY FUNCTIONS




  • Perform daily scheduling of quality control inspectors to support production and shipping schedules

  • Helps coach each QC inspector to perform their duty to the best of their ability

  • Takes appropriate actions on nonconforming product and customer complaints

  • Performs or arranges for the performance of internal audits of the quality management system at prescribed intervals

  • Assists the Quality Director with the management of the Quality Management System and reviews it’s effectiveness

  • Performs root cause analysis of nonconforming products and conducts studies to implement improvements in products

  • Verifies that all quality documentation is maintained and properly completed

  • Maintains equipment calibration and supporting record keeping to ensure equipment is calibrated in accordance with appropriate schedules

  • Employee must exhibit a good attendance record





REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Certifications, And Other Skills)




  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field

  • 2+ years’ experience providing quality assurance and quality control on projects

  • Certification in a Quality related area desired

  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing inspection processes

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Self-motivated and works well with or without supervision.

  • Good organizational skills and a methodical approach to work.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Detailed oriented, able to read and interpret drawings, BOMs, options, shop details, etc.

  • Must have a good attendance record and have a strong sense of personal responsibility.

  • Personal computer skills required.

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check

  • Ability to work safely




PHYSICAL DEMANDS


  • Ability to stand; sit; walk; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate testing instruments, tools, computers and various pieces of office equipment.





WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. The noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
