Pulmonary and Sleep Associates of Huntsville, INC. seeks Pulmonary Physician

Requirements: M. D. or foreign equivalent education, completion of Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship. Must be board eligible and Alabama Medical License eligible.

Duties: Consult with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.

Diagnose and treating conditions like asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.

Use and interpret pulmonary exams and tests to aid in the diagnosis of cardiopulmonary diseases and conditions, including CT scans, chest fluoroscopies, ultrasounds, and bronchoscopies. Perform various specialized procedures to acquire samples of the chest wall lining or the lungs, for further analysis. Provide immunizations against preventable cardiopulmonary diseases.

Maintain detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests and/or treatments prescribed, and test results. Refer patients to cardiothoracic surgeons, when necessary.

Advise cardiothoracic surgeons of the risk status of patients and recommending interventions to minimize risk, especially in tuberculosis cases. Provide support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.

Conduct research testing and development of new medications and methods of treatment.

Liaison with and to all area hospital affiliations for on-call, ICU, and other hospital procedures.

Oversee and manage clinical staff, and in cases of non-physician providers (i.e. mid-levels) provide collaborating oversight as needed. Attend and participate in clinic education, business meetings, and professional forums with owners, staff, and employees
