Behavioral Health Solutions is seeking an Independent Contractor Psychiatrist to join our practice.

Job Summary:

The Independent Contractor Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing psychiatric services to patients, including medication management, therapy, and other interventions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will be able to work independently to manage their caseload. A strong commitment to patient-centered care is essential to success in this role.

This position is an Independent Contractor role, meaning that the Psychiatrist will be responsible for maintaining their own liability insurance and adhering to all state and federal regulations related to independent contractors.

Job Duties

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine the appropriate treatment plan for each patient.
  • Provide medication management services by evaluating medication effectiveness and side effects, prescribing medication, and adjusting dosages as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient, including progress notes, treatment plans, and diagnosis codes.
  • Provide clinical oversight and review of medical documentation created by PMHNPs servicing the Washington practice.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including therapists, psychologists, and social workers to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings to provide updates on patient progress and coordinate care.
  • Attend training and continuing education programs to stay current on best practices and new research in psychiatry.


Service areas incorporate: Greater Seattle metro area, and rural Washington.

Requirements

  • Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and two years of post-residency experience as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric facility required.
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure as a physician in applicable state.
  • Licensed by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Possession of a valid state driver license may be required.
  • Possession of appropriate Liability Insurance.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry; current developments in the field of psychiatry; hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures.
  • Ability to skillfully diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients.
  • Ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Ability to prepare records and reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.

Benefits

Compensation: $160.00 to $190.00 per Billable Hour

The Independent Contractor Psychiatrist will be compensated on a fee-for-service basis. The rate will be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
