Job Summary

We seek a Project Manager who will support project teams and the firm's key regional clients in planning and condition assessment of complex and innovative combined sewer, wastewater conveyance, and wastewater treatment projects, including utilizing asset management principals. Projects may also include water distribution and storage, reclaimed water, and stormwater management. The successful candidate will work under the direction of Client Managers for select clients primarily in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC Metro area. As part of subsequent training, professional development, and career progression, this role will have opportunities for increasing responsibility including client management and the successful candidate will contribute to the firm's business development efforts.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Providing services related to development and implementation of Condition Assessments and Asset Management Programs.
  • Engineering design and consulting for complex assignments, including hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, infrastructure condition assessment and rehabilitation, cost estimating.
  • Review of engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work prepared by others, as part of a program management role in support of the client's Capital Improvement Plan implementation.
  • Participate in assignments as a member of a team, sometimes in a lead role in particular areas of expertise, including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff.
  • Presentation of project deliverables to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required. M.S. degree preferred.

Experience: minimum 10 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering consulting performing condition assessment, asset management, studies, design, and construction services for municipal clients.

Certifications, Licenses: Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
  • Experience with asset management concepts, including asset inventory, condition assessment, risk-based project prioritization, and capital improvement planning.
  • It is preferred, but not required, if the candidate is familiar with some asset management tools such as CityWorks, Innovyze InfoAsset, and Maximo by IBM
  • Experience in the preparation of contract documents for water and sewer.
  • Experience working with GIS databases.
  • Experience working on a team with other engineers.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
