Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Support the Packaging Workcell's engineering projects, programs, and initiatives of low to medium complexity by applying project management expertise.
Use industry- recognized tools (MS Project, Celoxis, Smartsheet) to manage Packaging Engineering projects through all phases of the project lifecycle to include development of SOW and project plans and tracking/communicating progress to external customers and the Packaging Workcell leadership team.
Collaborate with the customer, other internal functional groups, and the Packaging Engineering group to deliver on time and excellence in execution results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure project requirements are understood, properly documented, and agreed to amongst stakeholders.
Develop and own road maps and associated project plans with clear dates, deliverables, and task owners.
Identify and analyze project risks to recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Manage project stakeholders as required to include escalation to Workcell leadership to eliminate risks to project objectives and timelines.
Provide periodic and standardized updates to internal project stakeholders and the Workcell's customer.
As required, update the status of Packaging Engineering commitments and projects using Jabil's internal project management tools and applications.
Conduct regular meetings for the exchange of information regarding project status and change management.
Ensure the Packaging Engineering group's functional leaders are informed and prepared for execution requirements at all times.
Recognize project Key Performance Indicators and manage activities to meet scope, quality, time, and cost constraints.
Develop tools and metrics to track trends and Key Performance Indicators to enable continuous improvement.
Assist with developing budget and staffing forecasts for Packaging Engineering projects and track changes to identify cost impact for review with Workcell leadership.
Participate in obtain Jabil Lean and Project Management programs and certifications.
Understand and exceed customer (internal and external) needs and expectations.
Manage sensitive and confidential information per Workcell and company policy.
Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Capable of effectively and concisely presenting information to management and customers.
Ability to respond in a timely and collaborative manner to common inquiries or complaints.
Experience defining and implementing new processes and strategies that contribute to the group's objectives.
Maintain high standards of work with exemplary attention to detail, market knowledge, and sound judgment.
Ability to build and leverage partnerships, implement change, and manage projects.
Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in project management.
Experience with enterprise project management tools such as MS Project, Celoxis, and Smartsheet
PMP Certification desired.
