We are currently looking for Project Manager - Natural Resources to assist with Renewable Energy projects in the greater Richmond, Virginia Area. The Project Manager will be working in a challenging and variable environment that will include detail-oriented independent work and regulatory interactions.

The successful candidate will have the experience and aptitude to lead wetland delineations and threatened and endangered species habitat suitability surveys and managing projects, while also assisting in the preparation and review of technical reports and permit applications. This candidate would also be a mentor and supervisor to junior staff and a technical environmental lead for Renewable Energy clients.

Responsibilities:
Provide support and strategic thinking for on-going projects addressing environmental concerns of renewable energy (onshore and offshore wind power, solar power, battery storage), traditional energy, linear infrastructure (i.e., transmission lines and pipelines), and other types of projects throughout North America.
Perform lead or support function working directly with renewable and conventional energy Project Managers, assisting in task management, organization, and client deliverable development.
Support client coordination, manage workload, delegate work.
Lead/manage wetlands and waters delineations, stream assessments (Unified Stream Methodology, NCDWQ perennity determinations), and CBPA resource protection area delineations.
Prepare technical reports, federal and state jurisdictional determination requests, and permit applications for USACE, VDEQ, VMRC, Local Wetlands Boards, and other regulatory agencies.
Lead threatened and endangered species habitat suitability and presence/absence field surveys.
Conduct USFWS, NMFS, DWR, DCR, and other regulatory agency coordination for threatened and endangered species effect determinations and concurrence.
Support technical and environmental studies, assessments, surveys, and inspections for energy projects.
Willing to travel and conduct occasional fieldwork in a range of environments from busy urban areas to remote locations.
Review and interpret local, state, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
Maintain project timelines.

Requirements:
B.A. or B.S. in an environmental science related field (including, but not limited to, earth science, ecology, botany, forestry, biology, land resources management)
5 to 8 years' experience in an environmental science related field.
Wetland delineation training course and 5+ years' experience conducting wetland delineations.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Solid Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and other software tool skills
Demonstrated capabilities in understanding and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work well independently and at remote job sites.
Ability to work on multiple projects and work on multiple tasks at any given time.
Ability to work well with a team.
Must be located within Virginia.
A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Preferred Skills and Expertise:
Wetland certification (or ability to obtain) including PWS, WPIT, or PWD.
Wetland delineation and permitting experience in Virginia, Mid-Atlantic region, and/or Southeast region.
Located in Richmond, Virginia
