Position Summary
The Project Manager is a contractor position responsible for developing and executing project plans for the Phoenix Project portfolio and critical Run-the-Business (RTB) projects impacting the Phoenix Site. The Project manager coordinates cross-functional teams, ensuring comprehensive planning and optimal execution of plans. This includes planning, executing, and finalizing tasks according to established scope, timeline and budget criteria, and communicating progress by preparing status reports. Working with project teams, the incumbent identifies and facilitates resolutions to critical path barriers, maintains a risk registry and associated contingency plans, including mitigation, resolution and escalation of issues. Supports project tasks and teams with passion, innovation, speed and accountability. This position will report to the site Associate Director, Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
Drives delivery of detailed plans, critical path activities and timing while achieving key milestones in alignment with program goals, benefits, and the goals of the organization.
Manage and lead cross-functional task and/or project teams for Engineering Capital Projects
Ensure benefits, scope, goals, assumptions and deliverables are well defined and understood by the team and stakeholders.
Manages project/task activities including recurring status meetings and reporting. Tracks risks and issues and drives the resolution of risks and issues through documenting and communicating actions or escalating to appropriate governance.
Drives the development of full-scale plans and timelines including cost and resource estimates with input from all required departments
Lead team meetings and ensure that meeting agendas and minutes are issued in a timely manner.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts with/within the team.
Ensure that communications between teams, functional management, senior management and executive leadership are handled in an efficient, effective and timely fashion. Issue project status reports and update project documentation.
Drive consistency in project management tools and templates in line with the GPS PMO best practices.
Support change management strategy and plans.
Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential issues and devise contingency plans, escalate potential impact on plans and timelines, and ensure execution to closure.
Foster high performance teamwork and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Responsible for capture and communication of key learnings between workstream teams taking advantage of available knowledge management tools.
Perform project activities with agility and urgency to assure project success.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
B.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Architecture, supply chain, a related science or technical discipline.
Familiarity with Pharma or life sciences industry and cGMP practices.
Experience Managing Engineering Capital projects.
Intermediate understanding of site quality systems supporting document management, change controls
5 years' relevant work experience required, 3 years in life sciences, including demonstrated 3 years of project management experience.
PMP or similar professional certification highly desirable.
Proficiency with project management and Microsoft tools, e.g. Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
Advanced critical reasoning, negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with high level of accountability.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment.
High organization skills with ability to multi-task several objectives in parallel.
Excellent people and project management skills
