Principle Electrical Engineer experienced with Protection & Control system design, studies and settings for utility grade substations.  Ability to oversee project teams consisting of electrical engineers & designers.  Strong desire to mentor and coach junior engineers.  Ability to work autonomously in a complex, technical environment where attention to detail and excellent communications skills are required.



Responsible for providing guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on various projects, executing individual projects and exploring new forms of technology to further the company’s technical proficiency. 



LOCATIONS:

Positions open in Cumberland, ME; Waterville, ME and Rochester, NY.





REQUIREMENTS:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

  • Fifteen (15) plus years engineering experience in the areas of power generation, power delivery and/or industrial automation systems.

  • Professional Engineer licensed in Maine and/or New York.

  • Current NCEES record and ability to apply for PE licenses in other states as needed.

  • Familiar with industry standards including IEEE, NERC, National Electric Code (NEC), and National Electric Safety Code (NESC). 



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Provide engineered solutions for Protection & Control systems in the electrical substation and power generation fields

  • Develop Protective Setting Calculations, Logic Diagrams and Relay Setting Files.

  • Plan, engineer and manage all aspects of a project such as scope, quality, schedule, and budget.

  • Coordinate effectively with team members and external parties including clients, suppliers, and contractors.

  • Manage technical requirements, project cost & schedule milestones within established targets

  • Perform transmission system coordination analysis. 

  • Aggressively promote a safe and healthy environment and always employs safe work practices.

  • Conduct engineering studies and prepare reports.

  • Lead and contribute to assigned company process improvement efforts.

  • Perform design review and deliverable quality checks.

  • Participate in marketing and sales activities including estimating and proposal development.
