Principle Electrical Engineer experienced with the physical and electrical design of utility grade substations.  Ability to oversee project teams consisting of civil, structural and electrical engineers & designers.  Desire to mentor and coach junior engineers.



Responsible for providing guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on various projects, executing individual projects and exploring new forms of technologies to further the company’s technical proficiency. 



LOCATIONS:

Positions open in Cumberland, ME; Waterville, ME and Rochester, NY.





REQUIREMENTS:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

  • Fifteen (15) plus years engineering experience in the areas of power generation, power delivery and/or industrial automation systems.

  • Professional Engineer licensed in Maine and/or New York.

  • Current NCEES record and ability to apply for PE licenses in other states as needed.

  • Familiar with industry standards including IEEE, NERC, National Electric Code (NEC), and National Electric Safety Code (NESC). 



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Detailed design of 4kV to 345kV distribution, transmission and interconnection electrical substations

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical focus area, provide training, mentorship and guidance to clients and staff.

  • Coordinate effectively with team members and external parties including clients, suppliers, and contractors.

  • Aggressively promote a safe and healthy environment and always employs safe work practices.

  • Manage all phases of projects including conception, design, specifications, scheduling, estimating, material procurement. & cost control.

  • Conduct engineering studies, investigations and prepare reports.

  • Lead and contribute to assigned company process improvement efforts.

  • Perform design review and deliverable quality checks.

  • Participate in marketing and sales activities including estimating and proposal development.
