SSCI is looking to fill Principal/Lead Software Engineer positions for software projects relating to autonomy for unmanned systems. These positions require a current U.S. Dept. of Defense Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a software development team to design, implement, and test embedded multi-vehicle autonomy software systems utilizing AI, robot planning and optimization and machine learning algorithms.
  • Integrate autonomy software components and algorithms onto real-world unmanned aerial platforms
  • Support development of competitive proposals and follow-on programs for acquisition customers, including government agencies and industry primes
  • Present technical results to internal and external customers

Requirements

  • BS or higher w/ 10+ years of relevant experience in software development for operationally deployed systems.
  • Mastery of C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with agile software development methodology as a scrum master
  • Experience with DevSecOps, software factories, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


Desired Skills

  • Experience developing multi-vehicle autonomy software real-world robot or vehicle prototypes
  • Experience with memory safe languages such as Rust or Go
  • Knowledge of defense industry open standards such as OMS/UCI, FACE, UCS
  • Experience integrating software with modeling and simulation environments such as AFSIM
  • Experience with systems/software engineering processes, including development tools, configuration management, SysML/UML, DevOps, and test/QA methods
