Role : Packaging EngineerLocation : McConnellsburg, PA(Onsitenbsp;JOB SUMMARY:The Packaging Engineer will support and lead packaging projects to ensure effective delivery of products to our customer while optimizing our supply chainnbsp;ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned Work with various suppliers to develop the optimal packaging solutions for their products while ensuring all safety, quality, ergonomic, cost and material flow requirements are met Analyze and implement alternative packaging methods and keep current on industry standards and best practices Use various tools, pull engineering drawings for raw materials and record part dimensional data needed to make a container selection Review and approve various material flow and packaging change requests submitted through the segment Material Flow Councils Manage various day to day tactical issues that arise with suppliers and their use of returnable packaging Work with the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) team to implement reusable containers internally and externally in support of the overall PFEP strategyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Relevant industry related certifications Packaging engineering experience within the manufacturing industry Ability to effectively communicate Ability to work in a team environment Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etchellip; Occasional travel may be required; typically less than 10%
