Veterinary Technician - Oncology

FETCH Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is seeking Veterinary Oncology Technician

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is looking for another talented and caring oncology technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of the Fetch family and advance your skills in both medical and radiation oncology.

Help us provide the most comprehensive array of cutting-edge treatment options available. Our team of compassionate professionals works closely to provide the highest quality, comprehensive care to our patients.

Our ideal candidate is able to:

Provide excellent client communications and education

Act as a liaison between clients, referring veterinarians, and co-workers

Provide a high level of patient care and maintain accurate computerized patient
medical records

Exceptional venipuncture and IV catheter placement

Perform digital radiography

Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery

Assist in clinical tests and procedures such as bone marrow biopsy, lymph node
biopsy, and ultrasound

Running in house lab work and preparing/sending samples out

Prepare prescriptions and discharge instructions for clients

Preparation and administration of chemotherapy drugs

Perform mathematical equations to calculate medications and chemotherapy drugs

Assist in the training and mentoring of all assistants and junior technicians

Willingness to perform hospital cleanliness and maintain treatment stock as needed
without prompting

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  1. Certification or Associates Degree in a related field is preferred
  2. Experience in veterinary oncology is preferred
  3. At least 2 years of experience in the veterinary field with an emphasis in client education
  4. Strong & professional work ethic
  5. Experience with ezyVet, Cubex or Smartflow is a plus
