ActiGraph is expanding rapidly, and in recent years has added to its 20 years experience of manufacturing and globally deploying market-leading, fit-for-purpose wearable actigraphy devices, and data collection services for research and clinical trials. We have established and grown our scientific services team to offer a full range of services to support our clients throughout the entire clinical trial lifecycle, including protocol consulting, data science, data analytics, and regulatory submission assistance.

We are seeking a skilled Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This unique role requires a combination of skills in electrical engineering, data analytics, firmware development, and software programming. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of sensor systems, including the ability to interpret complex sensor data and ensure proper sensor calibration.

ActiGraph is well established (2004) and is a rapidly growing company with over 100 employees with a friendly, collaborative, and supportive culture. The ability to work as an effective team player with colleagues across all departments (including Business Development, Sales Operations, Marketing, Project Management, Science and Engineering), while supporting our customers needs is essential. We hope you'll consider joining us in our mission to help bring digital data to life!

The essential duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Collect, process, and interpret complex data sets from a variety of sensor systems, providing insightful and meaningful analysis.
  • Apply principles of electrical engineering to refine and optimize sensor design and data acquisition techniques.
  • Develop and maintain firmware for a variety of devices with an emphasis on supporting sensor prototyping and integration. This includes creating software interfaces for sensor communication and data acquisition.
  • Utilize skills in software development and scripting languages to automate workflows, improve data processing efficiency, and enhance overall system performance.
  • Leverage advanced mathematical models and algorithms to troubleshoot issues, predict system behavior, and devise solutions to complex problems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify technical challenges, develop solutions, and implement improvements.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the fields of engineering, data science, and technology to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Other duties required, as assigned.

All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the ActiGraph core values, standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Proficiency in software development and scripting languages, with a focus on automating tasks and enhancing data processing capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of sensor technology, including sensor calibration methods and signal interpretation.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying complex mathematical models and algorithms to solve engineering problems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Must be able to participate in continued education activities (classes, online training etc.) regarding new and evolving technologies to his/her focus area.
