Motiv Power Systems Inc. reqs. Mechanical Engineer III - Thermal Systems to design and develop Motiv Power Systems’ vehicle thermal systems. Design routing and retention of hoses, and battery cooling lines. design and develop fittings and joints that allow for ease of assembly, service, and robust functionality. Develop designs for manufacturability and assembly while optimizing for cost (scaling to higher volume). Develop BOM, 3D and 2D CAD, GD&T, and materials specifications. Participate in developing next-generation ideas and state-of-the-art technology in the heavy-duty electric vehicle industry Design and develop technical requirements for interfacing systems (give and get). Lead failure mode analysis, FMEAs, and DVP for all hardware and systems. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering. EXPERIENCE: 5 years of engineering experience as PT & Thermal Product Engineer, ADAS Product Engineer, NVH Test Engineer or in a related position working in the automotive industry. SPECIAL SKILLS: The position requires 5 years experience with automotive product development systems and design disciplines including fittings, hoses and hardline development; 3 years experience with Bill of Material and Change Management Systems; 3 years experience with DFMEA, DV, Process Control Plan, DFM, DFA, and root cause analysis techniques; 2.5 years experience with thermal analysis, heat transfer, thermodynamics and control systems; 2500 hours with SolidWorks, PDM software, ANSI Y1 4.5 drawing standards and their application through GD&T; and 2500 hours with FEA, Model development and simulation tools. $112,570 - $130,000 per year. Benefit of working remotely on some days during the week but must be able to be onsite when needed which can be up to 5 days per week. Domestic travel up to 5% required.
