MIRK INC. is a family owned and family run business. We have been in business since 1972 and have a proud history of maintaining a family atmosphere amongst our employees. We are looking for a Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair aerial devices and other equipment commonly used in the utility industries (bucket trucks, diggers, and cranes). You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of equipment, engines and hydraulic systems. You must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions. Pay is determined by applicants qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble equipment or mechanical components according to requirements
• Inspect equipment, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, etc.)
• Keep logs of work and report on issues

Requirements

• Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
• Very good communication skills
• A problem-solving ability
• High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
• Proven experience as Mechanic
• Maintain a good attendance record
• Strong hydraulic and electrical background is preferred
• Welding Experience is preferred
• Current CDL is preferred (not required)
• Routinely lift or carry 50lbs
