Machine Operator rd Shift

Job Duties: Perform functions necessary to start up or shut down machinery. Perform set ups and dies, tools, etc. Adjust, install or remove jigs, stops, fixtures or dies necessary to produce the required product. Handles and supplies the material to be sheared by using a crane whenever possible. Make necessary checks and adjustments to insure that the product is manufactured to specification. Operates the machine in the most efficient manner possible and as assigned. Reports machine breakdowns or malfunctions to the Supervisor immediately and performs and repairs when capable and assigned. Replaces perishable parts or modular components on machinery, jigs, fixtures, or dies as required. Keeps the machine and adjacent area neat and clean. When required, handle and prepare the material in a manner necessary to make the product ready for shipment. Requirements: - Ability to read mechanical prints and sketches.
- Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, counting and the use of tape measure.
- Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features and equipment.
- Ability to use the required personal protective equipment at all times.
Physical Demands: - Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb ladders or equipment.
- Maximum unassisted lift 75lbs. Average lift less than 50 lbs.
Hours / Pay: - 3rd Shift
- 11:00pm to 7:00am, Sunday Thursday
- $17.00 per hour to start
- Pay goes to $21.01 to $21.40 after 45-day probationary period and once you are in the union
- Must be able and available to work overtime as needed
- 10 hour shifts during the week as needed
- 8 hours on Saturday as needed
This is a union position. You will be hired on after 45 days. ***Must be able to train on 1st shift (7:00am 3:00pm, Monday Friday)
