MACHINE OPERATOR - 3RD SHIFT (11pm-7am)

Location: Belleville, MI

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate a Robotic Welder, manual press or dial table according to specifications and machine operating instructions.

Fill out hourly check sheets with accuracy and problem identifying information.

Maintain maximum production efficiency in a manner consistent with the highest quality and minimizing downtime.

Set up fixtures and welder according to the Part Control Plan.

Lift and load parts per instructions. Pushes buttons to start and activate machine.

Observes machine operations, supplies, and position of work pieces to detect malfunctions or misaligned parts.

Unloads parts from welder and places into a specified container.

Periodically checks parts for non-conformance.

Inspects joined components for defects.

Assist in sorting of parts as needed.

Seeks out additional responsibilities during down time.

Understand and know how to stop machine with Emergency Stop Buttons and Main Power, and procedure for reporting malfunctions.

Responsible for following all lock out/tag out procedures.

Education and Skills Required:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum of 1 year related experienced preferred.

Ability to attend all scheduled shifts and to arrive on time.

Ability to follow all quality inspection procedures.

Available for overtime on short notice.

Willing to work in a repetitious manner.

Basic computer skills required.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, use simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production requirements.

Able to learn and use our MRP system Plex.
