SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Machine Operator, Laser Etch sets up, operates and maintains laser etch machines to produce laser marked images conforming to customer requirements and/or specifications. The Machine Operator, Laser Etch reports to the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations Leadership in Orchid Bridgeport.


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Set up and operate laser etch machines

  • Perform first articles.

  • Complete in-process monitoring.

  • Perform regular maintenance to machines.

  • May create or adjust programs to meet customer prints or specifications.

  • Record jobs completed, scrap, downtime numbers hourly to chart activity and job flow.

  • Assist and train others as needed.

  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 6S schedule.

  • May perform chemical etch duties.

  • Operate multiple machines at one time.

  • Perform other duties as required or directed by the Department Supervisor or Lead.


EXPERIENCE


  • Previous Laser Processing experience preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Intermediate to advanced computer experience.

  • Ability to use hand measuring tools.

  • Extreme attention to detail.

  • Ability to read blueprints & interpret GD&T preferred.



Level 1 Efficiently operate machinery according to standard work and GMP, under supervision.

Level 2 : Set up programs, make adjustments with little to no supervision.

Level 3 : Completely trained and independent to run all machines with the ability to program new work or revision change.


EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION


  • High School Diploma or GED
