Roles and Responsibilities: We are seeking a Manufacturing Program Manager within Rotoflow located at Houston, TX. This position requires 10 % domestic travel. Manufacturing Program Manager should be highly motivated to work alongside a team of Engineers, Designers and Machinists in developing and driving in-house manufacturing processes for niche turbomachinery components and supporting the discrete manufacturing environment due to recent growth and business expansion. Required Skills / Abilities:
Execution of Tasks Related to In-House CNC Manufacturing (~50% of time)
Generate tool path files from SolidWorks (and STEP file) 3D models using CAM software
Simulate machining operations using verification software to validate and optimize tool paths
Support optimization and fixing of machining operations and equipment - including recommendations on feeds and speeds
Support development of tooling and fixturing libraries (both physical and digital) to ensure equipment meets manufacturing needs and is accurately represented in software packages
Support Machinists with local/conversational CNC controller programming on an as-needed basis
Program Manager (~50% of time)
Develop and manage systems for organizing and controlling machine programming files
Support and evaluate multi-year plans for investment in new equipment, processes, tools, and operations that align with overall business goals for in-sourcing of manufacturing,
Collaborate with design and engineering on creation of specifications and ERP system material masters for raw materials,
Collaborate with Operations to establish work processes for resource and machine demand and capacity to improve efficient utilization of people and equipment
Develop work processes, procedures, job aids, and standards relating to operation of CNC equipment and software,
Support interviewing, selection, and hiring of operators and programmers aligned with the growth plan Education and Additional Requirements:
Technical Degree: Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology or Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent preferred
5+ years' experience programming for 5-axis CNC mills and 2-axis CNC lathes
Excellent knowledge of GD&T principles
Experience with SolidWorks or comparable 3D modeling software
Experience with CAD/CAM packages such as HyperMill, MaxPac, MasterCam, or comparable
Familiarity with machining commonly used metals such as Aluminum alloys, Stainless and Carbon Steels, Composites, etc.,
Detailed knowledge of different CNC tool and fixture types
Detailed understanding of revision control and document control practices
Detailed understanding of Quality Control and inspection practices
Experience with turbo-machinery manufacturing practices such as rotor balancing and CMM inspection Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Turbomachinery impellers and associated manufacturing practices such as flank milling, finishing, etc.,
Working in an ISO9001 Environment
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP
Programming experiences with languages such as Visual Basic, C++, Python, Matlab, Fortran, and similar
