- Supervise, administer, manage and control the working ofdirecttaxoperations
- DevelopTaxProcesses, Controls, and System improvements, to streamline, automate and meet the transformational requirements to implement change in thetaxlaws
- Ensure timely review advancetaxestimate and payment.
- Ensure timely filing of Return of Income, statement of TDS and other statutory compliances.
- Attend notices for assessments, appeals, revision up to ITAT level and brief counsels for hearing before High Court & Supreme Court
- Preparation of written submission during assessment and appellate proceedings.
- Ensure that rectification applications are disposed and refunds are received in timely manner
- Responsible for coordinating with consultants for various matters.
- Responsible for compliance toDirectTaxnorms
- Promote organization's policies, programes and ethos in a spirit of cooperation with officials of other wings across segment/ business and sites
- Study key changes in the relevanttaxenvironment from time-to-time and their impact on business, apprising key personnel of such anticipated challenges and suggesting timely strategies to meet such challenges
- Training, development and succession planning
- Submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports of compliance by thedirecttaxes division
- Suggest measures to further improve compliance functions
- Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- StrongDirectTaxexperience
- Ability to lead a team in a complex environment
- Good knowledge of excel / word
