Unconventional Gas Solutions, LLC (UGS) designs and builds gas generation systems (Nitrogen & Helium) and Gas treatment systems including biomethane upgrading, compression, acid gas removal, dehydration, BTU reduction, heavy hydrocarbon recovery, CO2 removal & N2 removal. We provide complete engineered solutions including design, engineering, fabrication and commissioning. The Jr. Application Engineer is be responsible for preliminary system design, equipment selection, cost/size/delivery estimations and calculations for engineering project. This role will collaborate across all business disciplines within UGS (sales, process engineering, mechanical/project engineering, controls I& electrical engineering, project management & procurement) and with external vendors, fabricators, etc to prepare documentation for budgetary and firm quotations on different process packages and equipment. Requirements Key Responsibilities Were Dynamic & Innovative in an ever-changing business you will be nimble in seizing opportunities to meet and exceed your responsibilities: - Estimates costs for engineering projects based on an analysis of project technical requirements.
- Present and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders to develop and maintain up to date and accurate sizing and pricing models
- Partner with key stakeholders such as sales managers, product managers, engineering, planners, buyers, manufacturing engineering, and finance to optimize the design and offerings and provide quick technical solutions to customers.
- Collect and analyze all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate.
- Identify, quantify and communicate potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
- Maintains up to date costs for a variety of gas processing solutions as necessary based on new information and project scope changes.
- Interface with project management, engineering, sales and procurement departments.
- Support list price generation, optimize margins, and technical sales support.
- Provide technical support for commercial negotiations of customers proposals.
- Organize and maintain customer service orders, quotes, records and databases along with procurement.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience: - Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- 1-3 years experience in gas processing systems, preferred
- Knowledge of fluid handling equipment, vessel design, filtration, heat exchanger sizing, and gas separation equipment (membranes, PSA/TSA/vPSAs), preferred.
- Exposure to skid fabrication processes and piping layout design, preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
