Action Youth America (AYA) is committed to creating and maintaining an orderly, fun, and safe environment where teaching and learning are exciting and students are assisted as they develop responsibility and widen their perspectives. AYA after-school programs exist to serve the unique academic, physical, and social needs of students who are in a special and critical period of their lives as they change from childhood to adolescence.
Mission: The primary mission is to provide quality after-school programming to all stakeholders through innovative practices by providing an inspiring, caring, exciting, and stimulating education.
We are looking for an experienced Program Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a variety of programs, including planning, organizing, and implementing activities. The Program Leader will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, ensuring that programs are meeting the needs of the community, and providing guidance and support to program participants. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to providing quality programming.
We are seeking enthusiastic candidates who have the ability to manage and actively supervise elementary and middle school students. Our sites partnered with Montebello Unified School District. Program Leaders/ Coaches may work at any AYA program sites and receive their assignments based on their availability and AYA program needs
- Provide positive adult role modeling, coaching, and mentoring to students.
- Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, Program Leaders work directly with students at a school site.
- Maintain consistent supervision and active involvement with students at all times.
- Ensure the safety of the students while following a prescribed program plan.
- Program Leaders are responsible to create and facilitate basketball enrichment for up to 20 students
- Develop engaging and creative recreation lesson plans.
- Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours and Scheduling: Monday to Friday, schedule varies between 1:00pm-6:00pm
Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
