100% Remote but candidate must be located in the Midwest (not the east or west coast)

Manager Notes

Hybrid Prefers in office as needed in STL or Boston, MA (2nd choice), will depend on the week, might be periods of time they are remote then a few days in office.

Might look at a remote candidate within a 2 hours flight or drive that will come in when needed

Looking into new and emerging technologies and building a product from a scratch trying to bring more accuracy to the back of the stores, customizations to orders, etc.

Building of hardware and connectivity - Working with Light sensor, weight sensor, temperature sensors, etc.

Data Analytics is required

GCP or other Cloud experience

There are other IoT SMEs on other teams this person can collaborate with

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solutions that drive business value. You will work with cross-functional teams, including product management, hardware engineers, software developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable IoT systems. This is a contracting position for a defined period of time.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop IoT architectures, protocols, and standards for seamless integration of various devices, sensors, and platforms

Implement end-to-end IoT solutions, including hardware and software components, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and machine learning models

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop specifications, and build prototypes for new IoT products and features

Ensure the quality, reliability, and security of IoT systems by conducting rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization

Keep up-to-date with the latest IoT technologies, trends, and industry standards, and evaluate their potential impact on the business and the product roadmap

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields

5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying IoT solutions, including hardware, software, and cloud components

Strong expertise in IoT protocols and standards, such as MQTT, CoAP, LoRaWAN, Zigbee, and BLE

Solid knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with IoT-specific services, such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT Core

Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in IoT development, such as Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript

Experience with data analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies and their applications in IoT

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
