EMI Services is hiring an experienced commercial/industrial HVAC Technician with management/supervisory experience! The position will be responsible for the direct oversight and operations of a small team of technicians who perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems in order to achieve regulated climatic conditions. Position requires the extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to recognize and determine the most efficient method for diagnosing, testing and correcting malfunctions. The ideal EMI HVAC Lead Technician is EPA Universal Certified and has the skill level to teach, train and supervise as well as the ability to make repairs on a variety of HVAC systems.

This is a supervisory role responsible for the training and leadership of HVAC Technician I and General Maintenance workers.

Salary

Starting at 90,000 annually depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and train a small team of subordinate HVAC positions
Work on air-cooled chillers, pumps and water systems, and VRF systems
Test input & output for voltage on building systems sensors/activators
Work on units including: split package, residential style, and up to light commercial, mini-splits, VAVs and AHUs
Use a multi-meter to check voltage amp
Use a torch for brazing
Prepare work orders and cost materials estimates

Essential Skills

Work independently, a self-starter
Read schematic diagrams
Understand the Refrigeration cycle with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend repair strategies
PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment
- Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
4+ years of advanced experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of commercial/industrial HVAC systems

EPA Universal Refrigeration License
HVAC I course or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Regular, dependable attendance required
U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
