Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to join our team. As an HVAC Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for various projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of projects, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, considering client requirements, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
Conduct heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork, piping design, and equipment layout.
Prepare detailed HVAC system drawings, including schematics, plans, sections, and details, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs.
Evaluate and select appropriate HVAC equipment, components, and materials based on the project specifications, performance requirements, and energy efficiency goals.
Perform system performance analyses, such as energy modeling and life-cycle cost analysis, to optimize HVAC design solutions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations, such as ASHRAE, ICC, and NFPA, throughout the design process.
Coordinate with construction teams during the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, providing technical support and addressing design-related issues.
Conduct field inspections and perform system tests to verify proper installation, functionality, and performance of HVAC systems.
Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in HVAC design, and apply them to improve design processes and deliver innovative solutions.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience working as an HVAC Design Engineer in the construction or engineering industry.
Strong knowledge of HVAC system design principles, equipment selection, and load calculations.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating detailed HVAC system drawings.
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as ASHRAE, ICC, and NFPA.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex HVAC design challenges.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Detail-oriented approach to ensure accurate and precise design documentation.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
A professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
