Founded in 2000, Gourmet Ranch is a purveyor of the finest custom-cut meats. In April 2011, Gourmet Ranch was acquired by Jakes Finer Foods. In March of 2022, Gourmet Ranch moved into its new 38,000 square foot state of the art processing facility. We hand select the highest quality proteins to deliver the finest protein products to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, and retail customers with best in class customer service.

Position Overview

The HAACP Coordinator leads Gourmet Ranchs efforts to develop its HACCP Plan and to develop, implement, and maintain a HACCP System.

Position Responsibilities

The position responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Review all Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring and verification records to ensure compliance USDA, Internal Programs, and HACCP critical limits and frequencies as required by the HACCP plan.
  • Monitor all HAACP programs to ensure procedures are properly carried out.
  • Review and evaluate all records for accuracy, completeness, and determine need for process improvement.
  • Develop and implement training plans for all HACCP, USDA, and internal plant programs.
  • Perform mock recalls and ensure identification, labeling, and traceability system functions as planned.
  • Conduct HACCP team meetings and required HACCP Review.
  • Analyze processes, identify trends and anomalies, and continuously evaluation plant programs for improvement.
  • Ensure all food safety related documents and records are controlled and that the current programs are in use.
  • Keep informed of food safety laws and regulations.

  • Must have a strong sense of personal ownership while maintaining a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills are needed.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate orally with vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial.


Requirements

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proactive and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • A bachelors degree in food science, biology, nutrition, or related field is preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to develop and deliver food safety training and HACCP programs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with team members at all levels are essential.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) is preferred.
  • HACCP Certification is desirable.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must pass all screens
  • Willing to work additional hours, holidays and weekends as requested
  • Available for questions and problem solving outside of normal business hours
