Are you a talented and versatile engineer with a passion for both infrastructure and software development? We have an exciting opportunity for a role as a Google Cloud SRE / Java Software Engineer, combining the best of both worlds. This fully remote position allows you to work with modern technologies, drive technical solutions, and make a significant impact in a large enterprise environment.

This is a long-term contract opportunity and we offer competitive compensation ranging from $55 - $70 per hour, as well as comprehensive benefits (see below).
Essential Qualifications: - Must live in the continental U.S. and be available to work EST/EDT business hours
- Open only to individuals who are U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or otherwise authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- W-2 only (no C2C)
Requirements - MUST HAVE 3+ years of core backend Java programming experience within a large enterprise environment
- MUST HAVE 2+ years of hands-on professional Google Cloud Platform (GCP)experience, to includeGoogle Pub/Sub, Google Compute Engine, Google Cloud Functions and BigQuery
- CouchDB (preferred) or similar NoSQL database
- Solid understanding of data caching techniques and their implementation
- Prefer previous experience in software reliability engineering or infrastructure roles
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities: - Utilize your Java programming skills to develop and maintain applications and services within our infrastructure
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Develop and deploy Google Cloud Functions and integrate them into our system architecture
- Develop and deploy applications using Google Compute Engine for virtual machine management
- Utilize Google Pub/Sub to establish efficient communication channels between different components of our cloud-based systems
- Work with large datasets by leveraging BigQuery for data storage, retrieval, and analysis
- Utilize CouchDB (preferred) or similar NoSQL databases for efficient data management
- Implement data caching mechanisms to optimize system performance
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance
- Collaborate with software engineers and other stakeholders to understand infrastructure requirements and provide technical solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in GCP technologies and tool
