Spark is currently seeking a Global Corporate Controller to lead our Accounting organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will provide financial leadership and mentoring while coordinating and overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial operations including accounting, treasury, FP&A, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working for and leading/building best-in-class global and distributed accounting teams in a fast-paced environment.

In addition to leading the Companys overall accounting operations, the Global Corporate Controller will partner closely with other senior leaders and teams across the organization to identify and implement operational improvements in order to streamline the Companys financial operations, with a focus on increasing visibility, accuracy, speed and efficiency by leveraging technology to drive automation to support scaling for long-term growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Companys global accounting, treasury, tax and financial reporting functions, including operational accounting and technical accounting responsibilities.
  • Oversee and own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement close process (FSCP), including the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, standard reporting and key metrics.
  • Develop and implement global, consistent and best-in-class accounting policies, operating procedures, internal controls, and financial systems infrastructure to support business growth, partnering effectively with cross-functional teams to identify and implement operational improvements.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to optimize and automate key accounting processes to streamline operations, reduce risks and drive a faster financial close.
  • Own relationships with external auditors and accounting/tax services providers.
  • Oversee and assure international statutory reporting, audits and compliance requirements.
  • Effectively lead, coach and develop talent within the organization, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • Oversee and manage all global financial operations and accounting activities for the organization
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality financial operations across the organization
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems, processes, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Interface with company leadership, corporate departments, outside service providers and vendors in support of corporate goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Global entity exposure with knowledge of international accounting concepts
  • Masters degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA required
  • 6+ years progressive experience in an accounting/finance
  • Preferred Industry Exposure: Public Accounting (Big 4 or next level tier) and Technology
  • Proven experience in working in an international, complex and fast moving environment
  • Competent with multi-company and multi-currency accounting
  • Experience preparing and reviewing US GAAP compliant financial statements
  • Proficiency with Elite or Elite 3E a plus
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Driven to achieve targets and deliverables, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
