Shift: Second shift
Hours: 3:00 pm to 1:00 am
Must be available for all shifts (1st shift, M-Th 5am-3pm; 2nd shift, M-Th 3pm-1am; or Weekend shift, F-Sun 5am-5pm). Must be able to work overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required.

Job Summary: The IGT Welder welds to repair castings that have surface or internal defects, which makes the casting unacceptable to the customer, and also welds caps and/or core plugs on some products.
Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities
Operate and maintain welding equipment.
Produce NDT quality welds using (link removed) to (link removed) diameter weld wire.
Review, maintain, and understand work instructions.
Log and map welds
Use and maintain the proper weld wire per alloy.
Perform necessary adjustments to the power source gauges. Hold argon CFH from 5-30 CFH. Welding at variable amperage settings.
Construct copper back-ups when necessary
Record data either manually or by computer as required.
Production of NDT Quality Welds of various sizes and difficulties to specifications listed within the applicable work instructions for each casting.
Ensure that the proper weld procedure, type of material and rod size are accurately assessed for each welding project.
Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to perform welding operations where procedural information is unavailable.
Make a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly.
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Effectively communicate with management/supervisors, engineering staff and planners to achieve yield efficiency.
Modify, repair, assemble, and fabricate copper back-ups as needed based on part geometry and specification requirements.
Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure it is complete per product specification or work instruction.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved disposal receptacles.
Operate general shop equipment and vehicles (hoists, manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, power tools, etc.)
Basic Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate AND 5+ years of TIG specifically in GTAW Style (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
Role requires passing a weld test per AWS D17.1
Role requires passing a visual test, to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours minimum).
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs.) unassisted.
Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings.
Ability to work in an environment with exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience in TIG welding with one or more of the following materials: stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, Inconel, cobalt based alloys, and nickel-based alloys.
Highly proficient in weld preparation methods, grinding, and fabrication welding.
Highly experience in welding operations that are subject to NDT quality inspections/testing.
Certifications with AWS D17.1.
Knowledge in DC welding techniques, and engineering requirements.
Knowledge in standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade.
Knowledge in occupational hazards and effective safety precautions of the trade.
Experience in with utilizing hoists and utilization of welding fixtures and assemblies.
Use of precision measuring instruments (Calipers, Pincher Gauges, Six Inch Rulers, etc.)
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Equipment Used:
Welding power source, gas tungsten arc, welding (GTAW) torches, welding shield, coolant, welding gloves, and Inert atmosphere equipment. Education Requirement: high school diploma or GED certificate Additional Job Details : 5+ years of TIG specifically in GTAW Style (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
