Primary Responsibilities:
- Field data collection (topographical survey, utilities information, nearby roadway data, etc.)
- Staking out boundary corners, temporary and permanent easement, etc.
- Inspect utility structures throughout a designated area
- Collect survey data utilizing a proprietary software at each utility structure
- Open structures and perform measure-downs without going inside the structure
Desired Qualifications:
- Degree in Geography, Geodetic Engineering/Science, Civil Engineering, GIS or related field or equivalent work experience
- Able to read, interpret, and follow maps
- Able to read and interpret construction assemblies or technical schemas or drawings
- Able to stand, walk in urban and rugged environments for up to 9 hours per day
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Possess a high attention to detail
- Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to update team with progress reports and updates
- Able to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, challenging environment
- Able to work consistent overtime hours as needed
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft products
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Familiar with Trimble or Leica survey equipment and possess strong inclination for technology and ability to troubleshoot technical issues in the field is preferred
- At least 3-5 years of outdoor field work experience, crew chief experience is a plus
- CADD software experience is a plus
- CartoPac software experience is a plus
