Are you uninspired working with boring products all day? Want to get your hands on some really cool motorsports parts? If so, this might be the perfect role for you.

For over 15 years APEX Wheels has designed and distributed lightweight, motorsport wheels for racers and car enthusiasts. Due to rapid growth and bandwidth limitations, were struggling to keep customer orders flowing, overcome intermittent quality issues, and process more complex returns in a timely manner. Your expertise and focus in these areas will allow us to continue to grow quickly while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

This is not your typical warehouse fulfillment role. You will not pick and pack orders or assemble products all day. This position works under the direction of our Purchasing/Production Manager and in partnership with our 3PL Management team where you will act as the point of contact for our Production, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams. With the support of our knowledgeable staff, you will become intimately familiar with the products we sell, improve existing processes and procedures, and identify opportunities to create new ones. To be successful in this role you will need to be organized and detail-oriented with the ability to absorb and process information quickly.

This is predominantly an on-site position at our 3PL warehouse in Rocklin, CA with opportunities to telecommute. Generally, you'll work an 8-hour day in the range of 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. Hours are flexible within this range to ensure that all shipments are processed timely. Special requests from the APEX Customer Experience team will funnel through you, and you will keep a pulse on warehouse activity to maintain a high degree of momentum. You will play a vital role in identifying breaks and inefficiencies in existing workflows, and assist in establishing new ones.
  • Receiving & Returns: Your trained eye will help resolve complex return issues resulting in quicker and more accurate customer communication, credits, and refunds. You will ensure order data has been entered into the various systems before the product arrives, and that products are properly labeled and barcoded upon arrival so it is checked in seamlessly within their expected delivery windows. You will work closely with the Production/Purchasing Manager to ensure our 3PL team has clear visibility into container volumes and scheduling.
  • Quality Management: You will work as an extension of the Engineering team performing quality control inspections on our incoming products to ensure they are within design parameters. Inspections include visually inspecting the quality of the finish and physically measuring the product to ensure they are arriving within proper weight and geometric tolerances.
  • Continuous Improvement: While you will not be directly responsible for the management of the third-party warehouse team, you will provide direction, input, and feedback on the handling of products and orders. Work under the guidance of our Purchasing/Production Manager to resolve ongoing issues in a proactive and timely manner. Develop and monitor KPIs to provide critical feedback to APEXs 3PL Partner.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Ensure that our third-party warehouse is providing a sufficient level of service and is operating efficiently. In addition to working closely with our 3PL, you may be called upon to assist the Purchasing/Production manager in communicating with supplier vendors and logistics/package carrier companies.
  • Collaboration: Act as a liaison between 3PL, vendors, Production, Customer Experience, Sales, and Engineering team to provide updates on order status and product issues so that the teams can proactively communicate changes.
