Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Freight Payment Specialist to join our TEAM! As the Freight Payment Specialist, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as managing freight payments with vendors, developing and communicating all related internal/external communication for freight invoices, and performing PDCA.

Primary Objective

The Freight Payment Specialist ensures processing of freight bill resolution in accordance with departmental goals. Represent the Freight Payment resolution team in the development of process flow mapping, impact assessment, and data analysis to support project goals. Develop and achieve Freight resolution KPIS. Collaborate with others to develop process improvements and implement best practices.

Major Function and Scope:

• Lead freight payment resolution with 3rd party vendor.
• Lead all related communication among internal/external stakeholders, budget holders, and logistics providers, to ensure timely resolution of freight invoices.
• Perform root cause analysis on issues and implement countermeasures through PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
• Troubleshoot rating/billing issues with 3rd party vendor.
• Manage carrier aging accounts to ensure timely processing of invoices in resolution.
• Investigate and troubleshoot all invoices needing review that are not auto-processed by identifying issues and offering suggestions on how to improve processing to reduce inaccurate and problematic issues.
• Produce ad hoc reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
• Develop KPIs to monitor the progress of issue resolution.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• 5 or more years of work experience in one of the following: G/L Accounting, Freight Payables, Carrier Compliance, Transportation Accounting, Transportation Operations, Customer Service, Vendor Support.
• Must be able to read a transportation contract and apply the pricing program as indicated.
• Experience with SAP, JDE, Syncada Preferred.
• Solid understanding of payment control processes.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to challenge and improve processes.
• Demonstrated analytical, process, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with external and internal stakeholders.
