Gainesville, GA Contract Duration: 11-36 months Rate: Negotiable Responsibilities: - Excellent employment opportunity for a Filling Technician in the Gainesville, GA area.
- Gainesville Filling Department is responsible for filling, caning, and freezing all frozen live virus vaccines produced here.
- Filling operates 2 ROTA ampoule filling/sealing machines, an automated ampoule caning machine, and 3 programmable cryogenic freezers.
- This position will assist in all aspects of vaccine filling through operation of equipment and manual labor as required.
- List up to ten major continuing responsibilities and the approximate percentage of time spent on each totaling 100%. Include only those duties that account for 5% or more of the work.
- 1. Hand Cane as needed. Prepare, set up, and operate filling machines. Includes operation of dry heat ovens and autoclaves.
- 2. Operation of Caning machine. Operate programmed freezers. Pack frozen vaccine for BRT transport. "Pull" required samples.
- 3. Complete relevant Filling documents and perform quality and volume checks as required
- 4. Order and receive materials and supplies.
- 5. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and Filling area(s.)
- 6. Assist in other areas as needed.
- 7. Work safely around Liquid Nitrogen.
- 8. Work in a Lab type environment.
- 9. Adhere to, ensure, revise and perform procedures accordingly to SOPs.
- 10. Operate the centrifuge spinning machine.
- 11. Batch non-Marek's vaccines for filling.
- 12. Demonstrated mechanical or electronic aptitude, cleanroom experience and/or familiar with aseptic filling principles.
- 13. Batch closing in Oracle.
- Avian Biosecurity Policy: It is the responsibility of all employees to take necessary steps to avoid contact with the avian species in general.
- This includes, but is not limited to, commercial poultry, yard chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, wild birds and pet birds.
- Should contact occur, precautions must be taken prior to entering a critical building or location: Anyone coming into contact with the avian species should not enter into a critical building or location for 24 hours unless they have showered, changed clothes and shoes.
Experience: - High School Diploma Skills
- Required Languages English (Speak, Read, Write)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity are important.
- Must be able to adapt to irregular hours - long and short days.
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
- Mechanical Diagnostics and problem solving is required.
- Must be a team player
