Fence Installer

 

Job Summary

 

Responsible for building fences around property, including residences, farms, and buildings. Measures linear footage to ascertain length of fence and erects fence.

Primary responsibilities

Measure linear footage of yard or property that fence will enclose.

clear fence line of existing fence and remove trees.

Establish fence line with customer.

Measure and saw metal or lumber and cut tubing.

Measure fence lines and posthole positions.

Align posts using levels and sting lines

Dig postholes, using spades, posthole diggers, or power-driven augers.

Mix and pour concrete around bases of posts, or tamp soil into postholes to embed posts.

Attach fence rail supports to posts and secure tightly.

Attach wire, wire mesh, or chain link fencing between posts.

Assemble gates and attach gates to fence.

Repair dings or holes in fences.

Build training walls and trellises.

Build picket fences using pointed slats and rails.

Build pergolas

Qualifications:

• High school education or GED equivalent preferred

• 1-3 years of construction experience preferred

• Prior experience working in the elements for a prolonged period of time is needed

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to lift over 80lbs on a consistent and daily basis

• Good work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor.

Computer skills and working knowledge of software is preferred

• Must be able to pass criminal background check

Salary: $15.00 to $20.00 /hour
