Engineering Technology Technician Location: US-DE-Newark Email this job to a friend

POSITION SUMMARY: The testing technician works directly with manufactured products to ensure instruments function within the documented performance criteria. These tasks can include assembling, calibrating, improving, and performing maintenance on test equipment. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Start up and testing of production units conforming to customer and engineering specifications. In the event of electrical problems, the individual must have the ability to troubleshoot to component level. In the event of a system problem, the individual must have the ability to isolate, troubleshoot and repair to provide a functional analyzer system. Assemble, wire, solder, mechanically test and/or adjust complex instrument assemblies and/or subassemblies. Occasionally the performance of other duties deemed necessary by business conditions as required. REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Years of Experience, Certifications, etc.) High School education or equivalent in addition to two-year electronics degree, computer courses and/or equivalent military and/or industrial experience Must have the ability to read schematics and drawings. Must understand computer basics and managing files and databases. Experienced with the use of oscilloscopes, multi meters, flow meters and other associated test equipment. Hanging of the systems requires lifting to 75 lbs. and occasionally up to 150 lbs. with the assistance of another person. Ability to assemble instrumentation required. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates on a manufacturing environment and is regularly exposed to moderate noise and lighting associated with a production floor. This role routinely uses standard tools and calibration equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 150 pounds.
