ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Technician to assist in building test fixtures and working on the assembly line!

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assemble, install, and test mechanical assemblies, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Fabricate and/or modify existing prototype components/fixtures.
  • Support build and set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical tests across multiple teams.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering team in building complex mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
  • Must have the ability to interpret schematic drawings (to component level) of pneumatic loops.
  • Assist in the development of manufacturing procedures to create the most efficient processes.
  • Record quality data.
  • Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, and written descriptions.
  • Perform minor soldering and electronic repair and assembly.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Plans and performs work requiring knowledge of electrical/electronic theories and principles, writing specifications, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Maintains and fabricates electronic equipment.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for new and/or improved workshop standards, protocols, and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years as an Engineering Technician or hands-on mechanical/electrical, or similar experience
  • Associate Degree, trade school, military technical training, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3 -5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics and mechanical fields.
  • Exposure to technologies such as sensors, electronics, controls, visual inspection, pneumatics, valves, and mechanisms
  • Experience with Automated Equipment preferred.
  • Experience using hand gauges for inspection and measurement of precision machined components
  • Proficiency with mechanical fabrication tools such as drill presses, saws, mills, hand tools, Power tools, etc
  • Understand wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, mechanical component drawings
  • Proficiency in the use of test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Volt Meters, Logic Analyzers, and Data Acquisition Hardware.
  • Technical desire and aptitude to learn new products and ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technologies.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic workshop etiquette, shop safety, and provide verbal and written communication across multiple departments.
  • Experience following and enforcing safety protocol, using proper PPE, and abiding by OSHA standards.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Offices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills required.
  • Able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Keep the lab space organized and equipped with supplies.
  • Works a flexible schedule as required for executing the projects.
  • Maintain a clean and professional workspace.

POSITION | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • Full-time contract position.
  • Days and hours of work may be variable depending on business needs.
  • Occasional evening work may be required as job responsibilities demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exposure to moderate to loud noise and light as typical in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs unassisted

The HOUND CANNABIS BREATHALYZER is intended to detect recent cannabis use. It does not measure whether, or how much, a person is impaired. It is intended solely for use in law enforcement, employment, and insurance settings. It should not be used for any medical or therapeutic purposes, or for any Federal drug testing programs, such as programs run by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Department of Transportation (DOT), and the U.S. military.
