About the Position:

The Director of Retail Sales Strategy will own the short and long-term sales strategy and go-to-market plans for the companys portfolio of products across all retail channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of sales strategies, including pricing, price pack architecture, go-to-market (AMPs), product, and promotional spend.
  • Work cross-functionally as a liaison between the field sales team and Onnit, ensuring all parties remain informed of internal activity, new products, strategies, etc.
  • Leverage customer and syndicate data to provide actionable insights and strategy recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Analyze trade spend effectiveness, approve recommended investments, and provide recommendations to the sales team to improve efficiencies.
  • Create a multi-year Sales strategy to build the sales targets for the annual Operating Plan.
  • Partner with finance and demand planning to develop accurate forecasts and trade budgets.
  • Partner with marketing in the development and commercialization process of portfolio innovation and renovation.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and amplify consumer and shopper communication and activation along the path to purchase and improve market performance.
  • Lead Category Management to provide compelling sales stories across retailers.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate the impact of marketing investment into forecast and planning inputs by channel and segment.
  • Evolve pricing and promotion strategy to mitigate channel conflict while meeting topline and profitability objectives.
  • Partner with Brand Strategy and lead development of selling stories on innovation with customers.
  • Help prepare for key customer meetings and category reviews, including setting goals, deck preparation, and calendar management.
  • Ensure retailer contracts and terms align with Onnits guidelines and objectives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in CPG Sales with a proven track record of success working in sales planning, customer development, category management, and trade planning.
  • Strategy development experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with all mass trade channels (Grocery, Drug, Mass, Natural, Specialty, E-Commerce) and securing alignment from buyers in customer meetings.
  • Robust analytical skills with experience in driving the P&L and successfully leading cross-functional teams through challenging business environments.
  • Expert storyteller with the ability to translate data into insights and distill disparate learnings into cohesive plans to drive the business capitalizing on opportunities and mitigating threats.
  • Ability to build consensus across departments with a passion for problem-solving, collaboration, digging into the details, and rolling up sleeves to make things happen.
  • Sharp organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
