We are looking for an experienced director of project management to oversee lead the planning, production, and execution of new product lines in the medical and industrial markets. Our ideal candidate will be an excellent planner, communicator, and able to coordinate all aspects of product development at every level of our company.



 



Position Summary:



The director of product management is responsible for supporting the development, management, and go-to-market execution of world-class, demand-driven products and services for the medical and industrial markets. The director will mentor and champion the product management team while working closely with internal business partners to identify, develop, and bring to market new, innovative products and solutions that position Zeus as a market leader in the medical and industrial markets. The director must be able to communicate and inspire all levels within the organization while also being hands-on at every stage of product development.



The director is responsible for leading the development of new product introduction (NPI) and the maintenance/enhancement of core products for the medical and industrial markets. They will define product portfolio strategy to include market assessment and positioning, business case, product roadmap, capability assessment, competitive landscape, and build/buy/partner considerations. This position will lead end-to end-product development by coordinating resources and teams in the vetting of opportunities and the creation of market ready products. They will coordinate communication on plans, progress, and ideas to appropriate areas of the organization including executive leadership.  The director must lead a product management team who take ownership of either ensuring the product is developing through stage gates as expected, or that product is deemed unviable and development is stopped.



 



Principal Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Responsible for P&L of global product portfolio

  • Consistently and effectively communicate product strategies to sales team, ensuring that     products are properly positioned in the market, utilizing creative promotional, pricing, and product positioning strategies to maximize revenue and profits

  • Direct product development team activity and meet regularly to review work plans and initiatives to ensure continued success for new products within their respective markets

  • Conduct business reviews with senior and executive leadership to review KPI metrics

  • Oversee and ensure the product management team acts efficiently and effectively

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to translate product needs into requirements and to drive consensus within the product and marketing departments to achieve the product objectives

  • Establish clear and efficient product road maps (long and short term), product plans, prioritization, and an overall agile product development process

  • Cultivate an understanding of the product’s vision and business case in the product management team and compile the product planning material necessary for driving product initiatives with clarity and consensus

  • Provide updates to executive leadership on product/portfolio process and progress

  • Prioritize existing development projects with new product proposals as determined by the business, customer, and market needs

  • Coordinate with the marketing and sales departments to execute effective marketing, lead generation, and sales strategies

  • Conduct product/market research that further aids the business in understanding current and future product needs

  • Represent the business and promotion of product(s)/portfolio(s) by advocating their value and benefits at executive meetings, marketing events, and on applicable consumer platforms

  • Synthesize diverse and complex information and data to design refined strategies, solutions, workflows, and procedures

  • Influence and inspire product managers in applying various approaches or strategies for their product/portfolio

  • Mentor product managers by offering guidance in the performance of their functions and readying them for personal and professional development and advancement

  • Develop and inspire collaborative relationships with cross functional department leaders



 



Requirements



Must Have (Minimum Requirements):




  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • An engaging and collaborative interpersonal style that builds trusting relationships, fosters team play, and drives effective negotiations

  • Analytical, creative, and business-focused leadership

  • 10-15 years product management experience in the plastics, medical or comparable industry

  • Proven management/leadership experience

  • Proven track record in product planning, defining, and launching successful products

  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations and decisions considering relevant business drivers and to meet market needs in a rapidly-growing and dynamic environment

  • A broad and imaginative understanding of healthcare products and markets



 



Nice to Have:




  • MBA in related field

  • Knowledge of medical device industry

  • Competent with computers and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
