Director, Product Management - Madrid, Spain

The person in this role will be responsible for supporting overall Omni-channel and Receiver product strategy and development by identifying and executing on product opportunities to allow our 50M+ receivers to track transfers, find locations, request money transfers, redirect payments to accounts, wallets, cash, and more. This person will be responsible for leading the entire product management lifecycle, including developing and executing product strategy, driving product innovation, and ensuring that our products meet the needs of our customers and achieve business goals.


Role Responsibilities

Support the long-term strategy for Omni-channel and Receiver products and services at Western Union.
Work closely with the market insights team, explore product ideas that could be of value to our customers (now and in the future).
Develop the Omni-channel and Receiver customer product roadmap, including timelines for rollout in key markets, and releases of key features and functionality.
Continue to refine strategy as our Omni Channel and Receiver strategy evolves and provides opportunities to engage with our customers with new products and services.
Synthesize information into concise storylines that can be communicated to stakeholders across the organization and to executive leadership.
Work across the organization to drive cross functional alignment and gain buy-in and support in implementation of the strategy.
Identify and translate customer needs to be built into our product.
Know our Omni-channel and Receive customers in-and-out, ensure our products are delivering to their needs.
Track Voice of Customer (VOC) data to identify ongoing product development and improvements opportunities.
Define product requirements and work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to bring products to market.
Champion lean and agile process to promote and instill validated build-test-learn development. Develop, test and define customer requirements for the technology build team and continue to build into product post-launch.
Manage multiple projects and tasks, leveraging a broad range of skills and capabilities.
Seek feedback from our customer base for the purpose of influencing the features and functionality of our products.
Oversee the development and implementation of revisions and new money transfer Omni-channel and Receiver products and services, including track-a-transfer, agent locator, receiver request, receiver redirect, and other products for Omni-channel and Receiver customers across digital platforms and key receiver geographies across the globe.
Partner with the Western Union Ecosystem Product team in the development of new non-money transfer Receiver products
Oversee the critical components of the product lifecycle, from concept development to launch to scale.
Work closely with Western Union stakeholders involved bringing a new product to market, including compliance, legal, partnerships, ops, and others.
Work to remove roadblocks involved in developing and growing new products across the globe.


Role Requirements

A minimum of 10 years of experience, focus on product management, entrepreneurship and/or strategy, although candidates with other relevant experience will be considered.
Strong interest and knowledge of the financial services and/or cross-border payments space.
Startup experience a plus.
A Computer Science degree not necessary, but highly recommended, although candidates with other relevant experience will be considered.
Excellent communication verbal and written skills enabling effective management and utilization of both indirect and direct resources.
Proven experience in building products from inception to multi-million-dollar product portfolios.
Experience in both upstream product and service definition, as well as downstream product development and execution.
Experience working across global cross-functional teams, including product, design, technology, marketing, compliance, business, and sales.
An impeccable understanding of data, metrics, and a commitment to data-driven decision-making.
