About the Opportunity
The Director, Growth Strategy and Business Development works with Franklins Specialty Investment Managers (SIMs), distribution teams and other parts of the organization to foster tactical alignment, drive growth and build a strategic plan for Public Market investments long term success.
This position will be located in our Fort Lauderdale, St. Petersburg or New York City office.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this role?
Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Work closely with the Head of Growth Strategy & Business Development and Head of Public Market Investing and team to develop, refine, and execute the organization's strategic plan.
  • Monitor progress toward strategic goals and objectives, identifying any deviations and proposing adjustments as needed.
Communication and Coordination:
  • Partner across the Public Market Investments team to develop and deliver effective messaging across the SIMs, other departments, and senior executives.
  • Ensure effective communication flows within the Public Market Investments team and other parts of the organization.
Project Management:
  • Oversee and manage strategic projects, ensuring they are aligned with the overall division strategy.
  • Coordinate project teams and monitor project timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Meeting Preparation and Follow-up:
  • Prepare materials, agendas, and documentation for strategic meetings, ensuring that the Head of Growth Strategy and Business Development is well-prepared.
  • Follow up on action items from meetings and track progress on strategic initiatives.
Relationship Building:
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to support the execution of the department strategy.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication across departments to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the function and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Confidentiality and Discretion:
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
  • 10+ years of strategy, project management, sales or product roles in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelors degree, preferably with a major in business, finance, or similar discipline.
  • Strong understanding of execution in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong familiarity with distribution organizations in the investment industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while leading implementation and/or execution of multiple timely and sensitive projects.
  • Ability to drive change through influence across the organization.
  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional and multi-channel teams (e.g., Portfolio Management, Marketing, Legal, Technology, Distribution).
Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. The salary, benefits and variable rewards will reflect the seniority of the position and a competitive market rate. We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $150,000 to $175,000, plus a discretionary bonus.
